Emma Raducanu concludes this year's campaign and will keep her coach into the 2026 season.

Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her remaining competitions this season due to a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together again next season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the third set against Zhu because of back discomfort that has affected her at times this year.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
