Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
