President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

The president said he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both members of the state Guard.

Community members came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.

“She was the kind of student that educators wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the press. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The event led the government to suspend asylum applications and cease granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi stated on a news show that she planned to visit the family.

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
