The Celtic boss declared he did not fear dismissal, asserting, “We are really close to changing our fortunes,” despite edging perilously close to being fired with a heavy setback against Rangers.

“The performance we had at certain moments was of top quality. This is the reality. And I would not say that if it was not the case. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I said we've seen this before. Which is why I said that we are nearly there to things turning around. But for the moment: small things.”
“We produced a lot of encouraging signs that we did, once more. But now it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My narrative would not be if it was not the case. That’s why I am convinced we’re going to be able to get back on track.”

The victorious boss refused to contemplate a championship push despite what felt like a huge result. “One match at a time, then we can develop a challenge,” he said. “The confidence in the squad is immense.”
